The consumer experience when completing a purchase with Amazon Pay
With Amazon Pay, consumers can connect their Amazon account to your FastSpring checkout. This authorizes payment methods that are already associated with their Amazon account. This way, they do not need to enter their name, address or payment details in your FastSpring store.
Amazon Pay is automatically enabled for all Storefronts at no additional cost.
- At checkout, the consumer selects Pay with Amazon. Consumers within the US may be prompted to enter their zip code for sales tax purposes.
- The consumer is automatically redirected to a secure site hosted by Amazon, and logs on using their Amazon account credentials.
- The customer selects which payment method associated with the Amazon account he or she wants to use for the purchase and clicks the blue Pay Now With Amazon button.
- The transaction is processed, and the consumer is redirected to your storefront’s completion page. FastSpring sends the default order receipt email, and Amazon sends a separate payment notification email to them.
Consumers who have an Amazon account only need to accept Amazon’s Conditions of Use and Privacy note when signing in from a different platform. Then, they can pay using the payment methods saved to their Amazon account. However, consumers cannot pay using an Amazon Gift Card.
Consumers can use Amazon Pay for subscriptions. If the subscription is an automatic renewal, an additional dialog appears below the Payment Method section in Amazon prompting them to select the checkbox Use my selected payment method for future purchases and payments to this merchant before they click Pay Now with Amazon.
Refunds and Returns
You can process a refund for an Amazon Pay order the same way you would for other transactions. The funds are automatically returned to the consumer’s payment account.
