Creating Product Bundles

This article will teach you how to create a product bundle that must consist of at least two products. Product bundling is a marketing strategy that involves offering several products for sale as one combined product, usually at an overall discounted price. A Product Bundle is sometimes referred to as a "package deal." The first product provides a name for the bundle and acts as a "wrapper" for the other 2+ products being bundled together.

Setup

Go to SpringBoard's Store Home » Products and Pages. Click Create Product from the right side of the page.

Enter in a name for the bundle (e.g. ABC Bundle), a price for the complete bundle package, and a description of the bundle. If desired, choose a box shot or other graphic for the bundle. Click Create. Click Configure Choices. Enter in a Display name, choose Bundle / Auto Select as the Selection Type, and click Next.

Click Edit and then click on the Display tab. Select Hidden as the Presentation Type. This selection hides the list of Configuration Choices on the Product Detail Page of the order process, for better usability. Then click X to close the window. Now click Add Choice.

Under Use Existing Product, select the first product to include in the bundle. At the bottom under Pricing Type, choose No-Price / Zero-Prices Option, and then click Create. Repeat the Add Choice step for each product in this bundle. When you have added all of the products to the bundle, click Save.

Customer View

Using Store Testing, you can run a test order to see the bundle from a customer's point of view. You will see that only the bundle price is charged, but the underlying products are shown as line items on the confirmation page and receipt. Fulfillment actions (emails, licenses, downloads, etc.) tied to the sub-products in the bundle will happen automatically.
